The New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for Tolon Constituency, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, as part of efforts to control and contained the spread of the COVID-19 of the Tolon constituency, has on Monday 30th March 2020, donated some personal protection equipment to the people of constituency.
The items include 2,500 bottles of liquid soap, 1000 protective nose masks, 1,200 hand sanitizers, and 30 Veronica buckets were presented to the Chief of Tolon for onward distributions.
Speaking to diamondfmonline.com after the donation, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu explained that the health of the people within the Tolon constituency is his top most priority hence, his move to help curb the spread of the deadly disease in the area.
He added the donation of the items is in line with President Nana Akuffu Addo directive of encouraging hand washing. He has however stressed the need for people living within the Tolon constituency to attach maximum importance to the spread of the COVID – 19 in the constituency.
The Chief of Tolon, Major Rt Abubakari Sulemana, who received the items on behalf of the people of the constituency, commended the aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for his continuous support to the people of Tolon Constituency.
He has however encouraged the people of the constituency to adhere to the directives by the President and the precautions placed by the Ghana Health Service to control the spread of the virus.
Some of the residents who spoke to diamondfmonline.com expressed their happiness about the gesture of Alhaji Habib Iddrisu. They are however called on delegates within the Tolon constituency to give their mandate to him come 25th April to enable him continue his good work.
