The chiefs and people of Nyohini community a suburb of the Tamale Metropolis in the Northern Region, have praised the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South Honorable Haruna Iddrisu for his efforts towards improving health care delivery in the area.
According to the residents, they are grateful to the MP for his attention and commitment towards ensuring quality health care within his constituency.
The residents made these praises by the MP who is also the Minority Leader in Parliament after he handed over a fully furnished Maternity Ward with essential medical equipment and supplies to the Nyohini Health Centre.
“We thank him for his intervention to provide us with this facility to save our lives. We are happy, and we want to assure him that we are ready to support the management of this facility to take good care of the facility to ensure its purpose”, they assured.
The MP for Tamale South Constituency Haruna Iddrisu, has on Monday December 26, 2022, handed over an ultramodern Maternity Ward to the people and staff of Nyohini Health Centre.
The project, an initiative of the MP was fully funded through his Common Fund with an estimate of five hundred and ten thousand Ghana cedis Gh¢510,000, is aimed at complimenting the already existing Maternity Ward at the facility.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Honorable Haruna said the expansion of health facilities within his constituency was part of activities he undertakes in the area to bring health care delivery to the doorsteps of the people.
Mr. Iddrisu claimed that, he performed more than the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) in the area of health.
“I probably have built and contributed to expanding access to quality health care even more than the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly”, he claimed.
“In the next few days, I will be commissioning one Health Centre at Yag’yili. We have done it at Gbambaya. We have done it at Adubiliyili, and today we are doing same at Nyohini. If you ask the assembly where they have done a facility, I am sure you will be found wanting”, he added.
He further stated that, “I am making a numerous contribution to the improvement of health care in the area”.
On her part, the Tamale Metropolitan Health Director Dr. Seidu Abukari Barikisu expressed gratitude to the MP for his continuous commitment towards ensuring access to health care and closer to his people within the Tamale Metropolis.
“An intervention such as this, further deepen the rich and improved access and quality of services provided”, she stated.
