Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) Commends Sergeant Majors

The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has commended Service, Formation and Command Sergeant Majors for their critical role in instilling discipline and professionalism among personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

He made the commendation during a get-together held at the General Headquarters on Wednesday 24 December 2025, where he described Sergeant Majors as custodians of the culture and traditions of the military. He also urged them to uphold and reinforce discipline, loyalty, integrity, professionalism, unity, courage and respect for authority.

The CDS further cautioned personnel against the wrongful use of social media, stressing the need to verify and cross-check information before making any publication or comment in order to safeguard the image and credibility of GAF.

On behalf of the Sergeant Majors, the Forces Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer Daniel Addo pledged they would continue to perform their duties diligently and professionally in support of the mandate of GAF.
