Chief Corporate Services Head at MTN Ghana, Adjoa Wiafe charge young people to adequately prepare themselves for Leadership Mantle

Chief Corporate Services Manager and Sustainability Officer at MTN-Ghana, Madam Adjoa Wiafe has charged the young people across the county to prepare themselves adequately to becoming leaders of tomorrow.

According to her, becoming the next generational leaders, require preparedness from young people, in addition to working hard; building resilience and developing minds that inspire others who can also learn from them.

“It is a huge responsibility to be torchbearers, and youth should be prepared themselves adequately,”she emphasized.

Madam Wiafe who was the Special guest of Honor, gave the charge in Tamale at the climax of the 2026 edition of a Youth Empowerment Summit, organized by Martha Inspires Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with focus on young persons in northern Ghana.

The summit, the 11th since it was birthed, was held under the theme; “Passing the torch,” and had corporate bodies like MTN-Ghana as sponsors. It attracted young persons in Junior, Senior High and Tech and Vocational (TVET) institutions among others who had opportunities to listen and engage with various speakers and personalities who shared life’s lessons, challenges and prospects with them.

Madam Wiafe reminded Ghana’s youth that their hard work through striving for academic excellence or skills development, where they choose to be creative or innovators could propel them to greater heights especially as they compete with not just their country folks, but with other youth across the globe.

“Your light will shine only after you have put in a lot of work and for youth to take that torch and carry it, you have to prepare yourselves,” she admonished.

MTN’s Corporate Service Manager said as a market leader in the telecom sector, MTN has chosen to walk the path with the young ones hence, they came on board to inspiring the next generation and future innovators.

“Youth are the future and if we not able to give them the skills and the tools that will position them well for the future, then we all have a problem”Madam Wiafe remarked adding; “MTN’s purpose as a market leader in the Telecom and Fintech solutions space, is not only about doing businesses, but also contributing positively to the society like supporting young people by ensuring that they are able to bridge the unemployment gap.”

Madam Wiafe also mentioned the MTN Bright Scholarship Program which aims at building capacities in Information, Communication and telecommunications (ICT) and Science, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) in addition to the MTN Scholarships which has so far benefitted 1200 students; covering their tuition, accommodation, stipends and each beneficiary receiving a laptop to aid their studies.

“The future is going towards tech and for us a Country, we need to ensure that we ae enabling growth that allows people to innovate, to expose and expand beyond the borders that they find themselves,” she said.

Madam Wiafe said MTN Ghana also has a place for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) under its Enterprise Programme by investing in and supporting such owners with training in how to grow their businesses, linkages to financial capital and increasing their market value.

The Founder of Martha Inspire Foundation, Martha Anabilla in a media interaction explained that being the 11th in the series, the annual summit for young people is helping to shape their minds, potentials and purpose.

Madam Anabilla commended MTN Ghana for being on board in a cause that brings young people and experienced persons together to share their knowledge and gain insight, alongside creating networks and building positive relationships that would help their future development.
