Chairman Samba gives backing to ‘demo’ in support of Agric Minister.

The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mohammed Baantima Samba has thrown his weight behind the Patriotic Northern Youth (PNY) ahead of their solidarity walk on Saturday.

Chairman Samba, to this end has therefore urged party faithful’s, farmers and agribusiness operators to support the peaceful solidarity walk to drum home the good works of the Minister for Agriculture Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

The Patriotic Northern Youth (PNY) is expected to embark on a solidarity walk on Saturday November 09, 2019 in support of the Agric Minister who is alleged to have made some derogatory comments against Northerners in a media interview.

At a press briefing in Tamale, Chairman Samba, said leaders of the PNY were in his residence to inform him of their intention and he had accordingly given his blessing to the group who had duly notified the Police about the walk.

He indicated that, the Patriotic Northern Youth will use the walk to appeal to the President to rather reward the Minister of Agric, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto for his sterling performance in the Agric sector and disregard the many calls from a section of the public for his removal.

He opined that, President Nana Akoffu Addo should maintain Dr Afrieye Akoto at the Agric Ministry in the event the NPP retain political power in the 2020 general elections for his leadership and vision in the Agric sector.
