Chairman Abu Hassan Rhyzo cuts sod for construction of Astro Turf at Tampe Kukuo

The Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA) Chairman Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo has cut sod for the construction of an artificial football pitch (Astro Turf) at the Tampe Kukuo Peace Park in the Sagnarigu Municipal.

The project is in partnership with the Goals for Life Project and the Gangdu Stars Sporting Club.

Work on the astroturf is expected to be completed within the next five (5) years.

In his address, the NRFA Chairman Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo expressed his sincere appreciation and thanks to the Chiefs and elders of Tampe Kukuo for their commitment, Goals for Life Project, and Gangdu Stars SC for the establishment of a good partnership that is of good benefit to the community and Northern Region at large.

He commended Goal for Life Project for coming to the infrastructural aid of Gangdu Stars SC since it plays a vital role in the success of every football club across the globe.

The Black Satellites Management committee member highlighted the importance of the artificial pitch when completed saying “the project will serve a critical role in the marketing aspect of the game”. 

He encourages the people of Tampe Kukuo to support the project since that will boost their economic activities when it reaches its full swing.

On his part, Tampe Kukuo Maligu Naa John David Wickham expressed his delight to the chiefs and people of Tampe Kukuo for accepting the partnership between Goal for Life and Gangdu Stars in the last 22 years.

He expressed belief when the project completes, will nurture talents from Tampe Kukuo community and help develop them into complete professional players.

“The Goal for Life Project is hoping to install a proper surface for the footballers to play on; so that when they advance to the Premier, they will be the best to control the ball”, he said.
