Minister for Business Development Dr IBRAHIM MOHAMMED AWAL, has presented 20 tricycle machines popularly called ‘Motor Kia’ to 10 youth groups within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region.
The supply of these tricycle machines was made possible through the abled facilitation of the minister, formed part of his efforts towards improving the lives of the party supporters most especially the youth in the Northern Region.
The 10 youth groups drawn from five constituencŋy includes Sagnarigu Constituency, Kumbungu Constituency, Tamale North, Tamale Central and the Tamale South Constituency.
At a ceremony in Tamale to present the items to the beneficiaries, Dr Mohammed Awal noted that, the regional communicators and other youth groups are doing well in terms of disseminating government policies therefore there’s the need for them to be supported to enable them do more for the interest of the party.
He said the gesture meant to be used as commercial purpose to raise funds to support the regional communication team and other groups of the party to enable them continue selling out the good image of the party in the region.
“I bought this tricycle machines personally over GH₵100,000, to support the constituencies and the regional communication team. They’ve been doing very well. They are those who sell government policies to the people. But, they are handicapped in terms of resources to do more. And so, these are commercial bikes for commercial purposes, to raise funds for them so that they wouldn’t struggle again for their activities. Therefore, am urging that these bikes should be used for that purpose to raise funds and support the party activities”, he advised.
Dr Mohammed Awal stated that, NPP government led by Nana Akufo Addo is doing everything possible to improve the standard of living among the people of the country.
He said the NPP government within their three years in government has initiated several social interventions including Free SHS , Planting for Foods and Jobs, Presidential Business Support Programme (NEIP),which has since benefitted thousands of Ghanaians in the country.
The Business Minister, indicated that all these policies need to be communicated well to the people of this country, therefore it is prudent to support the mouthpiece of the government to enable them communicate well to the people.
Dr Mohammed Awal Ibrahim, however entreat the youth groups within the NPP to work closely with the regional executives to enable the party win 14 Parliamentary seats out of the 18 seats in the Northern Region.
“Unity will be key in achieving this agenda”, he advised.
“I wanted to buy more of the bikes but am assuring the rest of the constituencies that I will come back. This is just the beginning. I will come back hopefully March next year, for your share of the tricycles and other donations,” he pledged.
Meanwhile the beneficiaries who could not hide their happiness thanked the minister for the gesture and called on other government appointees to emulate the kind gesture of the Minister.
