A strong Liverpool FC fan in the Northern Region has been awarded an amount of Gh₵200 and a brand new jersey by Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzos for keeping many followers of the club’s hopes alive during Liverpool’s campaign in the UEFA Champions League last season.
Abdulai Abdul Rahaman popularly known as Alhaji Binyuribuusheli is the kind of fan that every club dreams of supporting with the same enthusiasm regardless of results.
He stood by his team through their difficult moments and keeps fond memories of times when Liverpool missed the Champions League some years back.
His usual mantra of “Ti nim pun zaŋ kopu maa kuna ti nyuri kom” which literally means “The cup is with us already and we’ve been drinking water with it” is what mostly catches the eye of many people including Liverpool fans in the Region.
Sports Analysts Mohammed Mashud (aka Whereabout) did the presentation on behalf of Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo who many people have touted to become the next Northern Regional Football Association president.
According to Alhaji Rhyzo, he “completely lost hope that Liverpool could beat Barcelona in the return leg of the semi-finals and progress to the grand finale of the competition”.
“It was Alhaji Binyuribuusheli’s comments on radio that I was relying upon to give myself an amount of hope that my team Liverpool could have won the Champions league”, he stated.
As a result, he decided to present the token to Alhaji Binyuribuusheli in appreciation for his relentless support and loyalty to the “You’ll Never Walk Alone” family.
On his part Alhaji Binyuribuusheli expressed his excitement and thanked Alhaji Abu Hassan Rhyzo for his kind gesture.
