Agrisolve Ghana Launches 2023 Farming Season

Agrisolve Ghana in collaboration with its partners, has on Monday June 5, 2023, launched 2023, Greenconnect Season for this year’s farming season in the Northern Region.

The season launch is designed to get farmers prepared for the new season, share information and gather data to guide activity implementation for the season.

It is also aimed at introducing farmers to the expectations for the season in terms of product trends, price updates, partnership, and protocols on the application of inputs.

The 2023 season launch is on the theme ‘Right Time, Right application’, dedicated to highlighting improving access to high-quality agricultural inputs and service which is key to increasing agricultural productivity and addressing food security challenges in the country.

In her presentation, the Executive Director of the Agrisolve Ghana Elorm Goh said, the season launch is being organized against the backdrop that Agricultural production is full of uncertainties and farmers are the worst affected due to the vulnerabilities that they are exposed to hence, it is imperative to prepare the farmers in readiness for every farming season.

She said the launch will reach over 10, 000 farmers in the project location adding, the activity will reach all categories of farmers and other value chain actors from Ministry of Food and Agricultutre (MoFA) and input suppliers in the private sector.

Madam Elorm Goh, stated that her organization would leverage the season launch to outline the outlook of the season in terms of its integrated farm improvement program, including input access, market access, mechanization, extension service, training and capacity development, and women and youth agriprenership programs.

In his remarks, the Tamale Metropolitan Department of Agric, Mr. Francis Koo, commended Agrisolve Ghana for coming out with such an initiative to address food security challenges in the country.

He thus urges farmers to adopt the initiative to improve their farming business.

The program was brought together, smallholder farmers, MOFA, input suppliers, and other actors in the agricultural value chain in the Northern Region.

Agrisolve is an agriculture development and social impact organization in the Northern Region that uses an integrated food system development approach to ensure productivity with farmers that increases its sustainable access to agriculture goods in maize, soyabean, and rice in the Northern and middle-belt sectors to serve various consumers, in food and feed industries.
