The embattled Sports Authority Director, Hajia Salamatu, is back at work, less than Forty- Eight hours after she had been forced out of her office

This followed a successful meeting between the metropolitan chief executive of Tamale metropolis IDDRISU MUSAH SUPERIOR, the sports authorities and the aggrieved youth at his office on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that, a youth group in the Tamale metropolis on Monday locked out the offices of acting sports Authority Director after chasing her out on allegations that she was incompetent and corrupt.

The youth group, believed to be affiliated to governing New Patriotic Party stormed the stadium in the early hours on Monday and asked the Director, Hajia Salamatu, to vacate the premises.

They alleged among others, that the Director General of Sports Authority has rescinded his decision to transfer Hajia Salamatu after taking a bribe from her. They vowed to prevent her from getting access to the secretariat until their demands are met.

However speaking to Diamond News after opening the offices on Wednesday at Aliu Mahama sports stadium, the administrator of national sports authority Samuel Oblie, said management were able to reopen the facility through the intervention of the Tamale MAYOR.

The sports administrator however failed to mention what transpired in the meeting between the two feuding parties and the mayor, but concluded that the offices of their embattled acting sport authority director had been opened and she has since resumed work fully.

“We have been able to retrieve our keys and the office is now open and work has commenced. We were called to the MAYOR office and we resolved the matter.  At the moment, the acting director of the sports authority has resumed, but what transpired at the MAYOR office, I may not be able to tell you because it is confidential,” Samuel Oblie stated.
