NPP Youth storm Eastern Corridor Roads Projects for Contracts
A youth group said to be linked to the New Patriotic Party in the Yendi constituency, on Monday held management and workers of the eastern corridor road projects hostage for some hours in demand for them to be employed by the project.
The group reportedly sought to be sub-contracted for some projects within their catchments, but that had not been met by the company hence their anger to teach them a lesson.
One of the employees of the eastern corridor road project who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed to Diamond news that the main entrance to their offices in Yendi was locked up by the defiant group who also chased the personnel out of their offices.
On July 25 the same group went to seize equipment belonging to the eastern corridor roads project contractors and vowed not to release the equipment until they were employed.
Following the latest storming by the youth to hold the company at ransom, Diamond news reached out to secretary of the NPP in the Yendi Constituency, Fusieni Bawa Zakaria, who rather chose to berate Diamond FM for creating disaffection between the party and institutions.
Here are excerpts of a conversation with Diamond FM’s Ibrahim Rafiu Dawun

Meanwhile calm had returned by 1 PM when the angry youth left the premises with threats to return if they were not immediately engaged by the eastern corridor roads contractors.
