Nyankpala Zongo demands its share of Zongo Development fund to address community challenges

The Nyankpala Zongo community in the Tolon District is appealing to the minister for Inner City and Zongo Development, Boniface Abubakar Sadiq to expedite action on the disbursement of the Zongo fund to Zongo communities such as theirs.

According to the inhabitants, the community over the past years has been bedeviled with several challenges including insufficient public toilet facility, bad roads, and insufficient of refuse containers to handle solid waste generated from the community.

The chief of Nyankpala Zongo community, Osofo Patrick Apulah Abinjpinjah, speaking on behalf of the community, commended Government for releasing the funds to the Zongo ministry for disbursement to the targeted community.

He however complained that lack of toilet facilities had forced the Nyankpala zongo community to practice open defecation. This he added was threatening their health.

Osofo Apullah told Diamond News that the Nyakpala Zongo community was witnessing series of criminal activities as a result of the nonfunctional street lights in the community.

Osofo Apulah indicated that the community needed urgent attention regarding the issues of sanitation and other challenges.

He believed that releasing the Zongo development funds early to the beneficiaries’ communities will go a long way to resolving the challenges facing the Nyankpala Zongo community.

Osofo Patrick Apulah also called on management of Zoomlion to provide refuse containers and waste bins for the Nyekpala zongo to help curb the disposal of unwanted materials indiscriminately.
