She said the National road safety authority therefore sees him as a suitable candidate for road safety campaigns in Ghana.

She revealed that over 1,200 persons have dead through road crashes from January to June this year and the authority is therefore devising innovative ways towards reducing the worrying trend.

Board Chairman of the National Road Safety Authority, Rev Ismail H. Awudu, observed that road safety in Ghana largely, is an attitudinal challenge where numerous drivers and riders indulge in risky behaviors and non compliance of safety regulation while on the road.

NdanYa-Naa Abukari in his acceptance address urged the authority to ensure the vigorous enforcement of all road safety laws particularly where motorists are not licensed.

He encouraged motor riders to at all time wear crash helmet in their own interest.
