Some aggrieved NPP youth of Wulensi in the Nanumba South District of the Northern Region, on Friday staged a demonstration against their DCE for incompetence and called on the president to fire him.
Clad in red bands and attire, scores of residents joined in the street protest over what they termed us poor performance on the part of Nanumba South District Chief Executive, Natogmah Ibrahim Munkaila
They carried placards some of which read: “President come and rescue us,” the DCE must go” among others.
The agitating NPP youth leveled several allegations against Nantogmah Munkaila, indicating that since assumption of office, the DCE had failed to maintain the status of the only district hospital which has been downgraded into a CHPS COMPOUND thereby affecting quality healthcare delivery in the area.
They bemoaned that several communities in Nanumba South district are always cut off during the rainy season, as a result of the DCE’s inability to ensure serious maintenance of some roads in the area. The aggrieved youth accused the DCE of using the name of the Assembly to perpetrate all manner of ills including abuse of office among others.
Zuberu Alhassan, one of demonstrators who spoke to Diamond news, appealed to the president to sack their non-performing DCE. He indicated that the group will stage series of demonstrations for Nantogmah Ibrahim Munkaila’s removal, if their concerns were ignored.
“We want him to go because he has failed to perform. He is only good at awarding contracts and hijacking projects meant for the youth of Wulensi. The DCE is in office to enrich himself and he isn’t there for us,” he lamented.
“There are no accessible roads; our District Hospital has been turned into a CHPS COMPOUND. We have nothing, we are not seeing any improvement and we want him to be sacked,” they chanted.
