Residents of the Kulnyevilla community in the Sagnarigu
Municipality have issued a one month ultimatum to government to fix their deplorable
road in the area or face their wrath.
The residents who are trumpeting a campaign dubbed “Fix our main Road
Now”, say the bad nature of the road linking the community to Tamale
metropolis had increased the number of motorist accidents, and reduced socio
economic activities among others in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the community members, Adam Musah, who double as Entertainment Chief of Nyab Dakpema of Tamale, in a press statement copy to Diamondfmonline.com, indicated that, though there have been several meetings with the authorities of the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly, their road are still in a terrible condition.
According to him, the road since constructed in 1993 had not seen any proper maintenance. “Many people lost their lives on this road. Why is it so to people of Kulnyevilla?”, he queried. “Therefore, we are given government a one-month ultimatum to fix the road”, he stressed.
He said the people of Kulnyenviila would mobilize funds to work on the road if government failed to do, “but we will not accept anygovernment officials in this community if the road is not fixed”, he warned.
“They only remember us during election period, and we want to inform them that if government through Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly failed to fix this road before December 7, we will not also tolerate any political campaign activities in this community”, he stated.
