VRA-NEDCO reconnects the Sung Health Centre in the Karaga district, following Diamond FM’s news report on the situation.

The VRA-NEDCo has reconnected the Sung Health Centre in the Karaga District to the national grid after disconnecting the facility for several months.

It would be recalled that Diamond News carried out a story that, NEDCo team led by Stephen Mensah visited the facility some months ago and disconnected the facility, because the health authorities had failed to inform them before tapping electric power to the facility.

The nurses at the facility were forced to use mobile phones torchlight to deliver pregnant women due to lack of electricity in the facility. The situation according to the health officials at the facility affected quality healthcare delivery in the community.

The situation also forced the only midwife at the facility to deliver pregnant women at their homes.

However the authorities after the news broke, quickly arranged a re-connection of the facility onto the national grid on Monday evening.

 Abdul Rauf, the Nurse in charge of the facility confirmed to Diamond News about the reconnection of electricity to the Sung Health Centre.
