US Ambassador speaks on her country’s support to Ghana towards realizing the Ghana Beyond Aid vision.

The United States Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Stephanie S. Sullivan, has said that her country strongly supports President Nana Akufo-Addo’s vision of promoting a Ghana beyond Aid, hence would ensure that US and Ghanaian businesses work together for a long term and mutually beneficial relationship.

She said for example the Shea industry in the northern part of Ghana which is a promising industry would be explored for the socio-economic benefit of the people and the United States is therefore supporting Ghana to transform the sector through value addition packaging and market access.

Speaking during a press interaction in Tamale as part of her three days visit to the Northern Region, Madam Sullivan said the US believed in investing in women, who play critical role in the shea industry because it was essential to the success of Ghana.

The US Ambassador also talked about the key pillars the government is support Ghana to advance; trade and investment, regional security and governance.

Earlier Madam Sullivan and her team paid a courtesy call on the chief executive of Tamale Metro Assembly, Idrisu Musa Superior where they discussed issues of mutual benefits. The US Ambassador as part of her 3 day tour, would be inspecting some US government funded projects including women shea processing facility in the Tolon District, have first hand encounter with children that are been encouraged to read in School as well as visit some traditional rulers including the Ya-na to interact with them
