UK – based charity organization responds to the Gbulahagu AME Zion Primary School’s furniture appeal

Progressive Welfare Foundation, a UK – based charity organization, has donated 50 metallic dual – desks to the Gbulahagu AME Zion Primary School in the Tolon District.

The support followed an appeal made by Fatima Abdul Majeed, a primary two teacher of the School, through her social media handle for help. The furniture facilitates studies for one hundred pupils in the school.

Ms. Fatima who was transferred to the school at the beginning of the term noticed insufficient furniture in the School, a situation that compelled some of the pupils in the lower primary to study on the bare floor.

Presenting the furniture to the School authority, the Founder of the NGO, Dr. Fuseini Awal, noted that his outfit responded to the call because as a personality who grew up in the north, he knows the challenges facing most of the schools in the area.

He added that the support will go a long way to improve teaching and learning.

On maintenance culture, Dr Fuseini Awal advised both the teachers and the community members to pay attention to the furniture and put them to good use.

The Assistant Headteacher of the Gbulahagu AME Zion school, Abdallah Mbeilayim Mohammed who received the items on the behalf of the School, commended the leadership of the Progressive Welfare Foundation for coming to their aid and promised to put the furniture to good use.

Abdallah Mbeilayim Mohammed also called on other benevolent organizations and philanthropists in the Region to learn from the benevolence of the Progressive Welfare Foundation by also coming to support the School since they needed more furniture and classrooms to resolve the overcrowding among the pupils.
