TTH to establish an endowment fund to assist patients that can’t pay their bills, says CEO of the facility.

Management of the Tamale Teaching Hospital is set to establish an endowment fund to support needy patients who cannot afford the cost of specialized medical services at the facility.

The TTH is also expected to identify and strengthen partnership with medical research institutions both internally and outside the country for the conduct of operational research to enhance performance at the facility.

Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr David Kolbilla delivering an address at the annual performance review meeting said these decisions were key priorities for the year 2019.

Dr. Kolibilla also indicated that, management has considered some measures to ensure patients are managed in house and in line with that, all supplies for special treatment are available at the hospital.

The management of the TTH is also considering the establishment of additional units, that will include, a polyclinic, wellness clinic, a cancer registry and a radio-oncology center to provide specialized services to clients
