“The NPP government hasn’t abandoned the E block community day schools and other projects as claimed by our opponents” – Dr. Bawumia

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government never abandoned the previous administration’s projects including John Mahama’s flagship; the E block community day schools, as has been claimed by their opponents.

Addressing a town hall meeting at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra on Tuesday evening, Dr Bawumia said since coming into office in 2017 to date, the Nana Akuffo Addo government had completed 27 E blocks spread across the country.

The vice president said unlike the previous NDC government who initiated the project, but only managed to complete 29 of the flagship E block community day schools before exiting office, the NPP had not abandoned the projects and have performed in excess in terms of infrastructure delivery comparing the two administrations.

“Since we have been in office between 2017 to 2019 we have completed  27 of E block projects across the country and so it is not true we have come in and abandoned the projects left, right and centre. We inherited the Somanya University project at a very low stage but it has now been completed”, he stated.

He said the infrastructure development at the education sector had seen significant improvement since the Nana Addo government came to power. Dr Bawumia indicated that the NPP government had embarked on numerous infrastructural developments in the education sector.

The town hall meeting, allowed the ruling party to provide updates on infrastructural development the Akufo-Addo administration had undertaken in the country.

Sectors covered included; Agriculture, Education, Transport, Industry, Health and Information, Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Citing other infrastructural development, Dr Bawumia said “since coming into office, the NPP government has implemented series of policies to ensure equal share of infrastructure development across the country.”
