Traditional and opinion leaders of the Tampulmas in the North Gonja District of the Northern Region have warned their young kinsmen against taking any steps that would destabilize the processes that will lead to the creation of the proposed Savanna Region.
According to the elders of Tampulmas community, a group of people purported to be the concerned youth of the area, held a meeting on November 3, which sets the tone to disrupt activities leading to the creation of the proposed Savanna Region.
The said group is also said to be behind information that is circulating on the airwaves to suggest that elders and youth of Tampulma traditional area in the North Gonja District were not in support of the creation of the Savanna Region.
However the Traditional and opinion leaders of the Tampulmas community in a press statement copied to Diamond News distanced themselves from any such meetings where decisions were taken to jeopardize the proposed Savanna Region.
Speaking later to Diamond News, the spokesperson of the Tampulmas Community, SALIFU SIMON BABA, stated that Tampulmas are in full support of the creation of the proposed Savanna Region.
He cautioned that they will resist any attempt by some few persons to prevent the rights of the citizens to exercise their constitutional right
