The Member of Parliament for Tamale North
Constituency, Hon Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini has on Tuesday 03 March 2020 donated
assorted educational materials and other logistics to the Sagnarigu Municipal
Education Directorate for onward distribution to some selected schools in the
constituency.
The items include, 5000 pieces of customized books, 250 wooden dual desk, 100
pieces of school uniforms, 100 pieces of school bags, and several mathematical
sets.
The MP also donated several office furnishers and 1 printer to the offices of the Sagnarigu Municipal Education Directorate.
This is the fourth time the MP has supported the
Saganarigu Municipal Education Directorate with educational materials and other
logistics. The donation also forms part of the MP’s efforts towards improving
quality education in the area.
The presentation was done at a short ceremony at the offices of the Municipal
Education office. The items were handed over to the Municipal Education
Director, Mrs. Halima Mahama by the MP himself and other constituency
executives.
The beneficiary schools include, IMMANIA ISLAMIC PRIMARY, KANVILLI TUUNAYILI RC
PRIMARY, TAWFIKIYA JHS, ZAMZAMIYAH M/A PRIMARY SCHOOL, TAHA PRIMARY, HASSANIYA
ISLAMIC JHS, GBANYAMNI JHS, SALIFU SUALIHU ISLAMIC SCHOOL, KPAMBEGU KHALIDIYA
BASIC SCHOOL COMPLEX.
The rest are AL-HUDA ISLAMIC SCHOOL, KULAAH ANGLICAN PRIMARY, BISHOPS R/C JHS, KALPOHIN SDA JHS, FUO MATORIYA, MMANAAYILI ULUM-DINNIYAT KG/ PRIMARY, AFA AYI ISLAMIC SCHOOL, AFA ALHASSAN ISLAMIC SCHOOL, KANVILLI PRESBY EXP. JHS, GBALAHI METHODIST PRIMARY, and TAMALE PRISONS SHOOL COMPLEX
The Member of Parliament in a statement said, the aim of the support was to ensure that school pupils in the constituency received quality education in the Region.
It must be noted that Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini, the MP has since the allocation of the GETFUND to MPs has utilised his share in providing educational infrastructure for his constituents and till date about 1000 desks have been distributed to the schools in the constituency.
The Sagnarigu Municipal Education Director, Mrs Halima Mahama on her part commended the MP for his commitment towards improving quality education in the area saying the gesture will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning in the constituency.
She has however pledged that the materials would be used for its intended purpose and tasked the heads of the various schools to maintain and put the materials into good use for students to benefit from it.
