The Tamale Metropolitan assembly has commissioned its new modern office complex opposite the Northern Regional Police headquarters.
The 2.1 million Ghana cedis office complex was started by Alhaji M. Y. Brahima in 1997 and work progressed slowly under various regimes until Hananu Gundaadoo in 2014 and finally completed and furnished by Iddrisu Musah Superior.
The Northern regional Minister Salifu Sa-eed in his remarks thanked the Chiefs, opinion leaders and the clergy for their enormous contribution towards the maintenance of peace in Dagbon.
He revealed that, investor confidence in the region has increased owing to the current waves of peace and several developmental projects commencing with the Syno-hydro project will come into the region.
He said lots of things have changed within the Tamale Metroplitan area and therefore called for an attitudinal change within the locals and urged them to be disciplined in all their dealings.
Mayor of the Tamale Metropolitan area, Iddrisu Musah Superior in a short remark thanked the assembly members for their support and enormous contribution towards the development of Tamale.
He revealed that, the assembly has received blessings from all traditional rulers and other opinion leaders within the area to bring back the Tamale project to tackle the increasing social menace in Tamale.
He indicated that, the assembly will host professionals in various fields, traditional and opinion leaders and a cross section of the public in the coming days to collate views and opinions to formulate comprehensive strategies to tackle the Tamale project.
Presiding Member of the Tamale Metro Assembly Adam Abubakari Takoro revealed that, the original design of the building was to accommodate the general assembly and other syndicate meetings of the assembly but that was changed and now making it an office complex.
