Tamale Mayor Musah Superior Suspends his Initiative to Instill Discipline in the Metropolis

The Metropolitan Chief Executive for Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior has suspended some of his initiatives to restore sanity within the metropolis.

According him misinformation surrounding the leadership’s efforts towards ensuring sanity in the metropolis had led to this saying such backlash was unwarranted and uncalled for.

A disappointed Tamale MCE blamed the ineptitude of some of the assembly members and other stakeholders within the metropolis, towards the initiatives as being part of the reasons, describing the development as ‘unfortunate.’

Addressing assembly members and departmental heads at the second ordinary secession of the Assembly in Tamale, Musah Superior indicated that, despite an order to assembly members to also constitute taskforces within their localities to fight crimes, only one assembly member had adhered to the directives.

‘’I wish to indicate that this exercise has been suspended for some reasons, among which is; the refusal on the part of assembly members to deliver on these issue which has potential to derail the feature of this metropolis,” Musah Superior stated.

The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly has in the past few weeks carried out a swoops on weed smokers, in addition to tracking and detaining minors who roam in the metropolis beyond 10 pm.

However the chief executive lamented over that the exercise had received a lot of backlash and lacked public support hence the suspension.

“I am disappointed in the manner in which I have been left alone to be bastardized in the public square without any member of this house coming to my rescue. I think that I have not been treated fairly by various assembly members for keeping quiet over the wonderful initiatives we are undertaking as an assembly ,especial when these intervention have come before this house and there has been no objection to any of them’’

Iddrisu Musah Superior said it is important for assembly members to defend the assembly’s interest by let the public know these were decisions sanctioned by the assembly and not an individual.
