Tamale-Kukuo residents unhappy with poor road network and bad drainage in their community

Residents of Kukuo in the Tamale metropolis have expressed worry over the lack of link roads and proper drainage facilities in the community. The residents complained that the lack of link roads had deprived the community of development.

According to some of the concerned resident, the Kukuo community had only single tarred road while others that have been earmarked for upgrading had been left in deplorable conditions making it uncomfortable for drivers and residents.

They said the community gets flooded whenever it rains due to the lack of proper drains in the area.

Speaking to Diamond News, the assemblyman of the area, Mohammed Lamin Awal stated that, the community for many years had been constrained with infrastructural development including roads.

He said his had written several proposals to the management of Tamale metro assembly to provide access roads and proper drainage for the community, but no action had been taken so far.

The Kukuo Assembly member appealed to the Member of Parliament for Tamale South Haruna Iddrisu to address the challenges facing the area.
