TAMALE CITY EARNS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

Tamale City FC secured their first win of the season as they overcame fellow Tamale Division One contenders Steadfast FC 2-0 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday in their match day four fixture.

Ekow Benson scored both goals for the ‘golden eagles’ to ensure they remain unbeaten after four matches

In the other match day four game played in Tamale, Real Tamale United (RTU) overcame newly promoted Gbewaa FC 0-1 at the Nobisco field.  Isaac Appiah’s early strike on four minutes was what secured all three points for RTU

For Coach Ibrahim Tanko, the victory was a sweet one for RTU who have amassed six points without travelling outside of Tamale right from mid-week when they won 1-0 against Nkoranza Warriors

These results marked a weekend of city derbies among the four competing teams in the Division One League Zone One

For Tamale City, Coach Sellas Tetteh will be glad that after securing three draws in the first three games, they were now able to get their first three points of the season in front of their supporters

Other results from Zone One are:

Paga Crocodiles 0-0 Bofoakwa

Kintampo FC 0-0 Wa Suntaa

Nkoranza Warriors 2-0 Glory FC

BA United 1-2 Unity FC

Young Apostles 1-3 NEA Salamina

The last match of this round that was supposed to be played was in Berekum where Berekum Arsenals were up against Techiman City FC. However, the latter failed to turn up for the game.
