The Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, is the latest among high profile politicians to have has tested positive for COVID-19.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has since Saturday, July 4, 2020, been on self-isolation after coming close to someone who tested positive for Coronavirus.
Other ministers and appointees such as Health and Education Ministers, Kweku Agyemang Manu and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, now resigned deputy Trades Minister and Tema West MP, Carlos Ahinkrah, the CEOs of the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital and the National Health Insurance Authority have all reportedly tested positive for corona virus.
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at the weekly press briefing on the COVID-19 situation in the country said President Akuffo Addo is taking advantage of technology to undertake his duties in self isolation, while the senior minister is doing well and receiving treatment.

Ghana’s Covid-19 cases have now reached 21,077 with 16,070 recoveries and 129 deaths.
992 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the last few days with the active cases standing at 4,878.
