S/R “Not a Single Member of our party in Singa Community of the Daboya/Mankargu Constituency has defected to NDC”- NPP

The Savanna Regional Communications Director for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Issah Mohammed, has disputed a report that suggested that over 200 NPP youth in the Daboya/Mankarigu constituency, have crossed carpet  to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He describes the report as false and palpable lies and must be treated as such. He said not a single member of the NPP at the Daboya/Mankargu most Singa has crossed carpet to NDC

Speaking to Diamondfmonline.com, Mr Issah noted that, members of the NPP most especially the youth of the Daboya/Mankargu constituency have never thought of joining any political party because they are happy about what the NPP government has done for the area.

He claimed that the NDC parliamentary candidate who doubles as MP for Daboya/Mankargu constituency, Hon. Shaibu Mahama Obei, during his tour of the constituency during the New Year festivities took pictures with some NPP youth group at Singa and later came with “this fabricated story”. Singa is a stronghold of the NPP, and is a no go area for the NDC, “in fact the people are very angry about that story”, he stated.

It was reported that over 200 members from the ruling New Patriotic Party in Singa of the Daboya/Mankargu defected to the NDC.

The report indicated that, the leadership of the group, Zak Basigi and Elisha Jebuni had said that, the numerous lies told by the NPP government coupled with lack of development in the area since the NPP government took over in 2017 were some of the cardinal reasons why they had decided to leave the ruling party and joined the main opposition party.

However, the NPP communication director in a rebuttal said the NDC in their 27years in government has done nothing for the people of Daboya/Mankargu most especially Singa who have been without lights for several years.

He said the NPP led Nana Addo government in three years of governance is in the process to connecting Singa community to the national grid.

He added that several developmental projects are ongoing in the area which includes construction of feeder roads to link the communities in the constituency.

“I am still pondering over why the MP and his allies waited to now bring this fabricated story now because this thing happened on 1st January 2020. This is one of their cheap propaganda, because they don’t have a message so they decided to lie”, he stated.
