RTU LAUNCHES OPERATION ‘TAGIBU’ AHEAD OF THE NEW SEASON

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Real Tamale United (RTU) has launched its operation ‘Tagibu’ for the upcoming season. ‘Tagibu’ is a Dagbani word when translated means CHANGE and it is what the IMC believes is the way to go in the coming seasons. The aim of the ‘Tagibu’ campaign according to the IMC is to foster change at all levels of the club’s structures including the playing body, management, board, supporters and financiers.

At a media briefing on Saturday by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the IMC, Alhaji Karim Mahama Saani (aka Starboy) disclosed that for the ‘Tagibu’ campaign to be successful it requires the support of the entire football fraternity. He said the media could play a key role in this direction by harnessing the education of the supporters to embrace this new idea.

Alhaji Starboy further added that the slogan for the ‘Tagibu’ campaign is ‘RTU, Tagibu!, RTU, Change’ and called on supporters to use this at matches when they come to watch the team play.

In a release copied to the media the IMC indicated that when they were given the mandate to run the affairs of the team they decided to identify the problems of the team before they could go about finding solutions. Upon several consultations, they identified poor governance, dire financial constraints, inefficient management, sub-standard player performance and a disgruntled supporter base as some of the problems of the team.

The IMC therefore calls for all stakeholders to give the team their maximum support so that they can qualify to the premier league in at least two seasons.

The new ‘Tagibu’ strategy has a vision of seeing RTU as a viable champion club in the Ghana premier league.

The ultimate aim is to bring back the tag of the ‘pride of the north’ as a slogan.  This they hope to achieve by building a ‘unique soccer philosophy and playing style.’
