Residents of Kpane in the Sanarigu Municipality unhappy with the poor state of roads leading to their community

Some residents of Kpane, a suburb of the Sagnarigu Municipality are up in arms against government for the deplorable state of roads within the area.

The residents lamented that, the only road leading to the community is in a deplorable state making it difficult to access the community and other adjourning communities anytime it rains’.

They bemoaned the difficulty in transporting sick persons including pregnant women to access healthcare sincevehicles including tricycles commonly known as “yellow yellow” no longer ply the road owing the bad nature of the road.

Expressing their frustrations through Diamond News during a visit to the community, the community members lamented that construction works came to a halt immediately after the Nana Addo led government came into power in 2017.

The alleged that, the NPP government rewarded the contract to the Northern regional Chairman of the NPP, Chairman Samba who abandoned the site since 2017.

They noted that, the poor state of roads has become a headache affecting the movement of pupils to and from school as well as their businesses and appealed to government through the Sagnarigu Municipal assembly to pay urgent attention to the road.

The Kpane residents also accused the Sagnarigu Municipal Chief Executive Iddrisu Mariam of neglecting their concerns since several appeals to her office to fix the deplorable road leading to the community fell on deaf hears and threated to report her actions to the SagnriNaa.

In their bid to draw the MCEs’ attention to the sad state of the road, the community members had mounted a “No Road No Vote” signpost at the entries of the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly office.

They threated to chase out any Politician who will come to the community for campaign activities ahead of the 2020 elections if the road is not fixed.
