Rearing for Food and Job Policy is most people-centered policy in Ghana – Professor Isaac K. Adai

A senior lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Professor Isaac K. Adai has lauded the President Akuffu Addo flagship program ‘Rearing for Food and Job Policy’.

According to the professor, the flagship program such as the rearing for food and jobs will go a long way to alleviating poverty in this country most especially the northern party of the country. 

Professor Addai speaking on Diamond FM’s Power Drive however bemoaned the need of the public to change their attitude towards the policy. He emphasized the need to pay more attention on breeding as part of the policy, adding “the livestock industry in the country are not doing much, hence the program will go a long way to strengthen the industry”.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday launched the Rearing for Food and Jobs (RFJ) campaign, another module of his administration’s flagship program- “Planting for Food and Jobs”.

The campaign will run for five years, from 2019 to 2023, according to President Akufo-Addo.

The aimed is to develop a competitive and more efficient livestock industry that will increase domestic production, reduce importation of livestock products, contribute to employment creation, and improve livelihoods of livestock value chain actors”.

However, Professor Addai commenting on the program, however advice  the stakeholders not to rush over the program but rather should pay more attention on it to sustain it.
