President Akufo-Addo has been faithful to his promises, says Nana B.

The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has said President Nana Akufo-Addo has been faithful to his promise of accelerating the creation of jobs for the teaming youth across the country.

He said the regions of the North have had their fair share of these jobs as tens of thousands of young people have been gainfully employed in the two and half years of the Nana Addo led government.

Addressing the third edition of the Youth Must Know series in Tamale, Herny also known as Nana B said various employment opportunities created by the government has collapsed the Graduate Unemployed Association that existed under the NDC government.

He mentioned that under NABCO “a whooping 100,000 youths have been employed under the various modules of NABCO of which an appreciable number of them are indigenes and can be found actively working in the various districts across the Northern regions”.

“Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has employed over 7,000 young people under the Arabic Instructors, Graduate Internship, Sanitation and Youth in Sports modules in the districts across the three regions in the North”.

Nana B also indicated that, “From 2017 to date, the government has recruited over 59,000 newly trained teachers out of which about 8,000 are indigenes of the Northern regions. The special recruitment of 8,000 persons on the wheels of Free SHS policy also had appreciable number of the youths in the North benefiting”.

The NPP National Youth Organizer also revealed that, 174 of the small earth dams under the 1 village 1 dam policy are nearing completion in some communities across Northern Ghana whiles work is expected to begin with the remaining 386 after the rainy season.

The NPP national youth organizer also explained the level of progress of some of the special initiatives being implemented by the NPP government which are aimed at alleviating poverty and improving the living conditions of Ghanaians.

He said the successful implementation of the Planting for Food and Jobs policy has not only significantly improved the livelihood of farmers but has stoked the passion and interest of the youth to go into agriculture and agribusiness.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports through the National Youth Authority (NYA) has built 10 ultra-modern and multi-purpose youth centers, with a five thousand capacity, across the country. It is instructive to note that the Northern region has had its fair share with one of these facilities situated in the region”.

Nana Boakye during his presentation described the performance of the NPP government as one that has brought hope in a relatively short time whiles the 8 years of the erstwhile NDC government can best be described as monumental failure and disappointing.
