President Nana AkuffoAddo has cut sod for the construction of the 62 kilometer Kpandai-Salaga road.
Out of the 62 kilometers, government has secured funding of about 54 million Ghana cedis for the construction of 16.2 kilometers of the road.
The President who was addressing a durbar in his honor, said government is recruiting about 4,000 police personnel and will deploy more personal to Kpandai to beef up security in the district.
This was after the Chiefs had asked government to increase police visibility by establishing more police stations within the District to maintain peace and security in the area.
President Nana Akuffo Addo also promised to connect 8 more communities in the district to the national grid to increase visibility at night and also boost economic activities in the area. He spoke in Twi.
The Minister for special initiatives, Hawa Koomson told the gathering that, the one constituency, one ambulance police under the USD 1million initiative will soon commence and the people of Kpandai also receive their ambulance.
She said various projects under the initiative including the one-village, one- dam, provision of mechanized water systems, markets and female friendly modern wash rooms are being rolled out to tackle the many challenges of the people.
The Chiefs requested government to consider the provision of a bigger water system in Kpandai Township to meet the growing demand.
They also appealed to the government to consider developing rice valleys within the district for commercial rice production in order to reduce the huge import of rice into the country.
