Pearlpia Ladies held Ampem Darkoa Ladies to a goalless draw in Techiman

Pearlpia Ladies secured a vital point away from home when they held Ampem Darkoa Ladies to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday at the Valley View University Park in Techiman.

Pearlpia Ladies were a depleted side as they played the entire game without their budding attacker Safia Abdul Rahaman who missed the game after failing to travel with the team to Techiman.

The absence of the former Black Queens captain forced Coach Baba Nuhu Mallam to do tactical changes to his Starting XI to enable Pearlpia secured the vital point.

Black Queens attacker Grace Asantewaa missed a penalty kick in the second half as she hit the goal post and have failed to score from a rebound as Black Maidens and Pearlpia goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan welcomed the ball in her arms.

It was a 50-50 game at the Valley View University Park but coach Baba Nuhu Mallam, whose side were tactically discipline, adopt a defensive strategy at the latter part of the game to secure their second draw since 2016/2017 league season at the same venue.

Pearlpia Ladies now have 4 points and are second on the log in Group B. They play their arch rivals Northern Ladies at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama sports stadium on Saturday to end the first half of the special competition.
