The parliamentary candidate for NPP in the Tamale North constituency, Alhassan Dahamani, has toured some flooded communities in the constituency after Tuesday’s heavy downpour.
The affected areas in the Tamale north included Gumani, Kalpohin, Nyanshagu, Ward K and Fou, where several homes were flooded and properties including electronics, and foodstuffs running into several thousands of cedis were destroyed.
The NPP Parliamentary candidate sympathised with the affected persons and promised to assist them put things back to normal and to ease up the pressure the victims are currently going through.
“I am worried about the destructions and I thought it wise to pay them visit and familiarize with them to know the extent of damage as the PC of the constituency and see what can be done to assist victims” he stated.
Alhassan Dahamani, a former independent MP and now the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Tamale north while interacting with the media after accessing the flooding situation, emphasized the need for swift measures to be taken before the situation got out of hand.
He mentioned that Tamale north is facing this challenges because the NDC’s Alhassan Suhuyini had failed the people hence, his call on the constituents to reconsider him come 2020.
“ I started some of the road projects, but things came to standstill because the MP, Alhassan Suhuyini lied about several developmental project I initiated and therefore there is nowhere you will passed and fill comfortable and so we are out to see how we would repackage and find ways to make this roads better.” he stated
The floodwaters cut off major roads at Fuo, thereby preventing residents including pupils from attending school on Tuesday. Some of the victims appealed to authorities to come to their aid by constructing proper drainage for them.
