Outdoor commercial nail cutting trade banned in “Greater Tamale”.

Both the Tamale Metropolitan assembly and the Sagnarigu Municipal assembly has banned outdoor commercial nail cutting trade within their jurisdictions.

A joint statement issued by the two assemblies said the decision was taken at a joint Security Council meeting to review compliance with the Presidential directive and all other related issues with COVID-19”.

The statement said it was observed that the activities of the young men who engage in the outdoor commercial nail cutting trade could be a major recipe for spread of the novel coronavirus in the Tamale metropolitan area.

Giving the danger associated with the trade in relation to the spread of COVID-19, a decision was reached at the joint Security Council meeting to ban the commercial outdoor nail cutting trade in the Greater Tamale area with immediate effect”, the statement added.

The Press release signed by both the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive Iddrisu Musah Superior and the Sagnarigu Municipal Chief Executive Hajia Mariam Iddrisu said the general public is also advised to take note of the ban and desist from patronizing their services”.

The statement also reminded the public that, acting contrary to the ban shall have consequences within the remit of the law”.
