Old Players call on Northern RFA Chairman

Executives and members of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), Northern Regional branch on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association (NRFA), Alhaj Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo at the RFA secretariat.  

The visit, according to the leadership of the PFAG was to congratulate him on his election and to also wish him well in his endeavours. Present at the meeting for the PFAG were: Coach Muaz Abdulai Choo, organizer of the PFAG, Northern Region, Alhaj Jato Ahmed Dawud, a member of the welfare committee of PFAG, Northern Region, Alhaj Alhassan Maadugu, PRO of PFAG, Northern Region, Alhaj Rashid Gariba, vice chairman, Alhaj George Mutawakilu (aka Bonnet), secretary, Frederick Addai Ember, equipment officer, Abdul Gafaru Habib Oscar, deputy treasurer and Alhaj Mohammed Choo, chairman of the welfare committee of the association.

Speaking at the short ceremony, the old players representatives thanked the chairman of NRFA for the reception and said their doors were opened for consultations and support, should he need it from them since he is also a member.

For his part, NRFA chairman, Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzo thanked them for their visit and took the chance to inform them about the work he has done so far since he assumed office.

He mentioned the constitution of various committees to enable him execute his mandate and mentioned some notable old players such as Coach Ibrahim Tanko (aka off the road), Alhaj Mohammed Choo, Frederick Addai, Rashid Gariba among others who were picked to serve in various committees. This drew applause from the members of the PFAG.

He added the face lifting of some football parks at Kaladan and the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Annex, the increase in the number of constituted District Football Associations from the previous six to thirteen now which were being inaugurated across the region.

Alhaj Rhyzo implored members of the PFAG to remain open to reaching out to him on areas they think he can tighten in his administration. He said they were a major building block of football in the region and assured them that whenever opportunities avail itself he would link them up for them to benefit from it.
