Nyohani South cries to Tamale Metro Assembly for Development

Some community members of Nyohani south electoral area have called on management of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly to come to their aid by constructing storm drains and access roads for the area.

According to the community members, the lack of roads had made the community inaccessible to commuters and other vehicular users.

They indicated that, city authorities over the years, have failed to provide Nyoahini South with the necessary infrastructure development.

‘’we are at the centre of the Tamale metropolis, but we are lacked behind in terms of development,’’ one resident complained.

Speaking to Diamond News the community members recounted that on January 14 this year, fire razed a two bed room apartment in the area however, the fire service personnel that were called in to deal with the situation, could not get to the fire scene because of the inaccessible nature of the area.

They indicated that providing Nyoahini South electoral area with roads and storm drains will not only stop the perennial flooding, but could go a long way to improving the sanitation situation in the area.
