Nyankpala D/A School which has produced two DCEs still in a sad state!

Inadequate furniture at the Nyankpala D/A Junior High School in the Tolon district of the Northern Region, has forced pupils of the school to sit on the floor during lessons.

Some of the pupils even lie prostrate, with their books while doing their class exercise.

Diamond News can report that the school, which is situated at the center of Nyankpala Township, ironically is the former school of the past Tolon District chief executive, Abukari Seidu and the current DCE, MADAM BALKISU YAKUBU.
A visit to the school revealed that the school had less than 10 dual desks hence many of the pupils had no option, but to sit on the floor for lessons.

Diamond News also gathered that the Nyankpala D/A JHS has been battling with this challenge, thereby compelling majority of its pupil to drop out from the school.

Some unhappy Teachers of the school declined to comment on the situation, for fear of victimization. The Head teacher of Nyankpala D/A JHS also declined to comment on the issue saying he will only speak when he had directives from the district education directorate.

However Diamond News managed to speak to some Nyankpala residents on off tape who expressed concern about the poor condition of the Nyankpala D/A school.

They also observed that if the situation is not addressed now, it would not only affect the academic performance of the pupils, but could expose them to some health hazards.

We were unable to speak to the Tolon District education director of education.
