Nyab Pishigu Naa Donates GH₵ 5,000 to a student of his alma mater for breaking a 10year old record

Nyab Pishigu Naa Dr Alhassan Andani has announced an amount of Gh₵5,000 to be donated to Laar Godwin who broke a 10years record in the High Jump event at the GHANASCO oval.

Laar Godwin made a jump of 1.90meters to set a new record which was previously held by Azure A. Michael since 2009 who previously set the record with a jump of 1.79meters.

Nyab Pishigunaa who was the special guest of honour in this year’s Athletics competition was impressed with Godwin’s sterling performance hence the need for the donation.

The Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana also revealed his continuous support to his alma mater by providing 100 set of jerseys to all the various halls of the institute, a modern gun and running spikes for the athletes.

Nyab Pishigunaa made this revelation on Saturday at the just ended Ghana Senior High School 59th Annual Inter Houses Athletics Competition which was under the distinguished chairmanship of Mr A.Y.M.B Ibrahim a retired educationists.

He also advised students of the school “to continue to be discipline, hardworking and dedication to their studies in order to become better people in the society”.

Cabral House were crowned the overall champions in the Boys events whereas Lordinah 3 were overall champions in the Girls category.

Alhassan Abdul Wakil from Cabral House won the Best Male Athlete award whereas Mohammed Asila of Lordinah 1 were crowned Best Female Athlete of the competition.
