NPP’s Kandahar boys attack Tamale Teaching Hospital CEO

Their rage over being ‘used and neglected;’ pushed the Kandaha boys of Tamale to visit the Chief Executive of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. Daniel Akolbilla, to chase him out of office on Monday morning.

Not even the wet morning, could stop the drove of the pro-NPP youth group who say they have been lied to by the TTH CEO by neglecting them thereafter in an alleged award of some seven contracts at the tertiary facility to himself.

It would be recalled that his predecessor, one Dr. Akanbong was also dragged out of office in a similar manner by and the administration of the hospital handed over to Dr. Akolbilla.

But few months down the line, the Kandaha boys who played an active role in the earlier drama, are now accusing their protégé of supervising over incompetence and misuse of public funds at the TTH, hence the reasons for dragging him out of office.

Their actions which included locking up the CEO’s office, however did not affect operations at the many departments of the hospital.

The TTH has over the period suffered bad public relations over theft of health logistics and medicals by some senior management staff, lack of care for patients among others. Internally, there have been wrangling among some top management leading to affiliations and owing of allegiance which have all negated quality health delivery at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile the Tamale police say no arrest had been made, but a team had been dispatched to the TTH environs to ensure sanity, as confirmed by DSP Yussif Tanko speaks for the police at the Northern Regional command.
