NPP women organizer donates to Tamale Prison.

The Northern regional women organizer of the NPP Hajia Rahana Abdal Aziz has extended her generosity to the Tamale central Prisons by donating some assorted items the inmates.

The items, included mats, ablution cans, bottled water, bags of washing powder and toiletries.

Two sewing machines were also donated by her, to help inmates acquire skills during their reformation at the Tamale prison.

At a short ceremony on Wednesday morning, Hajia Rahana also gave out undisclosed cash to help address some of the prison’s financial needs.

She opined that, the gesture formed part of her social responsibility to the under-privileged in society and urged the inmates to be of good behavior and acquire skills that would make them self-reliant when they are back home.

She also indicated, the President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo is working very hard for every Ghanaian including the inmates to have a better living and promised more assorted items for the inmates.

Deputy Commander at the Tamale central prison, Chief Superintendent of Prison, Divine Okulo who received the items expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the NPP regional women organizer for the gesture, adding that it came at the right time.

He called on other individuals and organizations to emulate the gesture and support the prison noting that government cannot do it alone.

He also called on the public whose relatives are at the facility to continuously show love to the inmates by visiting them.
