NPP in the Northern Region wants former President Mahama to rather apologize to people of the north for their under-development.

The New Patriotic Party NPP in the Northern Region has called on former President John Mahama to render an apology to Northerners for what they described as deceit and lies by the Former President during his 5 days tour of the Northern region.

They accused the former President of recklessness and economic mismanagement that thwarted the development and progress of the North during his turner as a Vice President and subsequently as President.

At a press conference in Tamale, the Northern regional director of communication for the NPP, Mohammed Issah accused Mr. Mahama of falsehood, alleging that during his tour he said the Tamale-Salaga- Mankango road was awarded on contract but the NPP after assumption of office abandoned the project.

The NPP also alleged that family of the former President squandered resources meant for the construction of the Busunu-Daboya road after awarding the contract to themselves.

Mohammed Issah also lashed out at the former President for complaining about reduced food prices in the North and attributing same to the bad road network and lack of credit to farmers due to the collapse of some banks in the country.

He said the Akoffu Addo led government is focused on securing funds to continue with all projects the Mahama led government left behind without making fund available for execution.

The NPP also urged former President Mahama to desist from comments that seek to discredit the Free senior high school policy since he is a beneficiary of free education policy in Ghana.
