Northern Ladies suffered 2-1 defeat to Ampem Darkoa in Techiman

Northern Ladies suffered a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Ampem Darkoa Ladies in their match day 1 opener of the Normalisation Committee Special competition for women clubs at the Valley View Park on Sunday.

The former National Women’s League champions got off in a flying start after budding Black Queens star Grace Asantewaa put them ahead in the 20th minute of the game.

Ophelia Amponsah doubled Ampem Darkoa lead in the second half after Northern Ladies goalkeeper Barikisu Issahaku blunder made it 2-0 for the Techiman based club.

Haruna Zeinab grabbed a consolation for Northern Ladies at the death of the match.

The BANUMA Top 4 champions will hope to make amends in their next match when they welcome Prisons Ladies on Wednesday at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama sports stadium in Tamale.
