Northern Ladies failed to glitter as they were forced to a 2-2 draw in Tamale.

Northern Ladies hopes of qualifying out from Group B in the ongoing Normalization Committee Special competition were dashed when they drew 2-2 against Prisons Ladies at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports stadium on Wednesday.

Victoria Osei put the Northern Blues ahead in the 20th minute when she scored from the spot.

Prisons Ladies came back strongly in the second half to equalise through Juliet Acheampong in the 63rd minute when Northern Ladies goalkeeper Afi Amenyau failed to deal with the striker’s shot.

Juliet scored her second goal of the game in the 81st minute when she capitalised on a miscommunication between Northern Ladies goalkeeper Afi and her defenders.

Prisons Ladies dominated possession throughout the entire game until when they thought the game was all over for the home side until Black Maidens striker and captain Mukarama Abdulai headed in a cross in the 89 minute to secure a point for Northern Ladies.

This means Northern Ladies now occupy the bottom of Group B with a point as their opponents Pearlpia ladies secured a vital point away from home when they drew goalless with Ampem Darkoa Ladies in Techiman.

Northern Ladies now faces their arch rivals Pearlpia Ladies when they clash at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday in Tamale.
