President Akufo-Addo has named Nalerigu as the capital town of the North East Region.
This goes contrary to expectations from the residents of Walewale, hometown of the sitting Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Bawumia and Gambaga where agitations had come from, prior to the announcement.
