No business as usual in newly created regions. That a warning to Local government staff from their Head.

Head of the local government service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has warned personnel that would be deployed to the six newly created regions that government businesses within their respective locations would not be business as usual.

He said as some 2000 staff at all levels is to be deployed across all the regions this week to commence the full functionalities of the region; the personnel should endeavor to work in the best interest of the country.

Addressing senior local government personnel from the newly created Savanna region at Damongo, Dr. Ato Arthur warned that professionalism would not be compromised hence poor attitudes towards work would not be tolerated.

The head of the Local Government Service also warned against the leakage of official documents, absenteeism and lateness saying such unethical acts would not be condoned. He thereby tasked Co-ordinating directors of the respective assemblies and their chief directors to take charge.

Dr. Ato Arthur also had some warning for assembly staffs especially finance officers that try to sabotage the system by disallowing genuine payment of funds thereby stifling developments within the respective local governments.

Minister of Reorganizational and Development, Dan Kweku Botwe has asked public officials posted to the newly created region to live by the reasons for which the regions have been created.

Mr. Botwe who had been on a familiarization tour of the North East and Savannah regions ahead of the take-offs of administrative functioning of the respective regional coordinating councils, reminded the actors that the reasons for the creation of the new region include; accelerating development, hence they should ensure that these aspirations were speedily realized and the hopes of the people, not dashed.
