NDC Parliamentary candidate for Kumbungu condemns defeated Ras Mubarak for his utterances.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Kumbungu Constituency of the Northern Region, Dr. Hamza Adam has described the assertion by the defeated incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency as unfortunate and must be treated as such.

According to him, the people of Kumbungu are matured and well educated in selecting their preferred candidate to represent them at the parliament of Ghana, therefore it is wrong for somebody like Ras Mubarak to claim that, the selection of parliamentary candidate was done through monetary influences at the just ended NDC parliamentary primaries in the area.

The Kumbungu MP, Ras Mubarak after his humiliating defeat at the NDC parliamentary primaries, run to the media, claiming he lost the elections because his opponent engaged in vote-buying.

However commenting on the issue for the first time, Dr Hamza Adam expressed ‘shock’ about the MP’s assertion saying the Kumbungu delegates voted for him based on his campaign message and the policy  he intended to roll out when voted as MP in 2020.

He told Diamond News that there wasn’t any vote buying at the just ended Kumbungu NDC parliamentary primaries.

“What he is talking about never occurred. It is completely fallacy and I don’t think that any serious mind should give support to that kind of allegation. The people are wise; they pick the people whose minds are wide open. They will never pick you because of your resources. Does it mean when he won the 2015 NDC parliamentary primaries, it was same process he passed through?”, he quizzed.

“I think what we should be doing now, once the election is over is to come together as one and galvanize support for our party to win. I am appealing to him to remain calm and ignore all what transpired at the primaries and let us unite for the sake of our party”, he stated.
