NDA donates hand washing facilities to Chiefs in Tamale.

The Northern Development Authority has donated hand washing facilities to some Chief palaces within Tamale and Sagnarigu to compliment government efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19.

As part of efforts to encourage hand washing among Ghanaians, Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority Dr Alhassan Sulemana Anamzoya made the donation to the various palaces.  

The beneficiary palaces are Gulkpe Naa palace, Dakpma palace Bamvim Lana and the Sagnari Naa palace.

The Lamasha Naa palace, Vittin Lana palace, Wamali and Bug Lana palace were all provided with the hand washing facilities.

Some items added include, buckets, dustbins, disinfectants, sanitizers and tables.

Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority Dr Alhassan Sulemana Anamzoya explained that, the donation was to ensure the safety of the Chiefs and the many people that visit the palace on daily basis.

We observed on last week Friday when we came to visit the chiefs, that in the Palace lots of interactions take place, friends, family, visitors and many other people visit the Palace each day but they didn’t have these hand washing facilities to help curb the spread of COVID-19 so we at NDA took the challenge to ensure the safety of very one coming into the palace”.

He added that, it is also in accordance with the Presidents’ directive of encouraging hand washing and we also want to use this opportunity to encourage people to follow the precautionary measures by the Ghana Health service, the Health Ministry and the WHO so that we can limit the spread of COVID-19”.   

At the Gulkp Naa palace where a short ceremony was held, Gulkp Naa Alhassan thanked the Northern Development Authority for the gesture and their desire to ensure the well-being of persons within their operational area.

He urged the public to follow religiously the precautions by the Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization to ensure the safety and well-being of all persons.
