The Regent for Nanton in the Northern Region, Abdulai Mahama has urged the community to rally behind leaders of the area for enhanced development.
According to the regent, no development can take place unless the inhabitants offer their support to their leaders.
Regent Mahama offered the advice at the confirmation of DCE for the newly created Nanton district assembly, Abubakari Hati-Rahamani.
All 27 Assembly members of the newly created Nanton have the President’s nominee, a Yes vote.
Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed who sworn in the DCE, urged him to have broader consultations with the Member of Parliament, the Presiding Member, chiefs and opinion leaders in the area.
Shortly after being sworn into office, Abubakari Hati-Rahamani hailed members of the assembly for the honor done him, and promised to work towards uplifting the socio-economic development of the area.
